[Sitting down, he'll pour Duo a shot. Yes, he is going to monitor this alcohol intake.]

What happened?

[Duo takes the shot and tosses it back with barely even a wince before holding the glass out to Gaignun.]

One thing after another. Just...a lot. First the damn lady getting herself killed. Then I had to tell Jake about Jade leaving, and Alex, he--

[Nope, there is not enough liquor in his system to get him to say the rest right now. His shaking head says so.]

[Obligingly, more alcohol appears in the glass]

I see. [He can guess from there, having seen the network himself. Silent support, he's good at that.]

[And there goes that shot without so much as a grimace. One would think he's done this before. He's holding the glass back out to Gaignun. This silent support thing your doing is nice.]

Did Anna see it?

[Again the glass is filled, but the pour is slower]

I don't think so. [He knows it's on the network however, so he'll try and see if he can block it on her PCD, or have Rubedo do it.]

She doesn't need to see him like that.

[Don't think he doesn't notice that, Gaignun. He takes the last shot and sets his glass down. He'll take a breather for now...]

Alex found him.

[Self pacing is a good sign, though Gaignun isn't going to comment on that.]

Alex probably could have done with out seeing Kida like that as well. No one did.

[This means you too Duo.]

[Don't get him wrong, Gaignun. He just doesn't want to lose that bottle so soon.]

He was worried about Kida. That's why he went out looking.

[Okay, so he's picking up the shot glass. Fill 'er up!]

[Fine, you can have a bit more Duo.]

Still, not the prettiest sight to see. Even if someone was used to death, that would be unpleasant.

[What's he at now? Four? Nope. Still not enough.]

Ever'thin' just blew up t'day.

[Dammit. That slip up is going to cost him Vodka-points...]

[Maybe one more Duo, then he's cutting you off unless you make a good case.]

Kind of the perfect day to wind up an awful month.

[He will gladly take that fifth shot! See, he's even holding his glass at the ready.]

[He makes a wide sweep of the room with his shotglass-free hand. It's doubtful me means anything actually in the room right now, though.]

[Yeah after this you're getting cut off for a while.]

[So mean! But that's okay, because that fifth shot is just what it takes for him to just start talking.]

That one Lady, didn' care much 'bout her. Raven, yes. Lady, nuh uh. Th'damn mark, though! Did you see it?!

[He looks pointedly at Gaignun, his eyes having lost their focus because of the quick intake of the vodka.]

[Gaignun thought back to Raven's post. He had been worried about her as well. Still. He may have seen what Duo was talking about, but he'll try and get the boy to elaborate.]

Aelia's mark.

[He sets the glass down on the floor, a little harder than he intended which only causes him to jump at the loud sound. Yes, that fifth shot is definitely his cutoff point.]

I saw it b'fore. In th'dream 'vent thing. There's a group of us when we saw 'er.

The dream event? [Oooh boy...]

What happened?

[His lips turn up in a dark smirk.]

[He places a finger to his lips. ]

That's a pretty heavy thing to keep to yourself, Duo.

[Duo shrugs his shoulders and leans back against his bed, his eyes falling close.]

Di'n't pull th'trigger. Vamp did me in. Ice through th'chest.

[He taps his chest with his hand, though he still doesn't open his eyes.]

S'my 'tonement...

[It's said so quietly. Are you sure that you heard it at all?]

[Never doubt the hearing of a listening URTV.]

Atonement for what, Duo?

People in th'Church. Father'n Sister. All th'soldiers we killed...

[He lets his hand drop to his lap as his lifts his head. He opens his eyes and turns his attention to Gaignun.]

[So many questions...but this seems to be like a good time to get some of these answers out of Duo. Gaignun figures talking about this stuff is good for the little guy, or at least good for him so that he's aware of potential issues.]
