[He makes a wide sweep of the room with his shotglass-free hand. It's doubtful me means anything actually in the room right now, though.]

[So mean! But that's okay, because that fifth shot is just what it takes for him to just start talking.]

That one Lady, didn' care much 'bout her. Raven, yes. Lady, nuh uh. Th'damn mark, though! Did you see it?!

[He looks pointedly at Gaignun, his eyes having lost their focus because of the quick intake of the vodka.]

[Gaignun thought back to Raven's post. He had been worried about her as well. Still. He may have seen what Duo was talking about, but he'll try and get the boy to elaborate.]

Aelia's mark.

[He sets the glass down on the floor, a little harder than he intended which only causes him to jump at the loud sound. Yes, that fifth shot is definitely his cutoff point.]

I saw it b'fore. In th'dream 'vent thing. There's a group of us when we saw 'er.

[His lips turn up in a dark smirk.]

[He places a finger to his lips. ]

That's a pretty heavy thing to keep to yourself, Duo.

[Duo shrugs his shoulders and leans back against his bed, his eyes falling close.]

Di'n't pull th'trigger. Vamp did me in. Ice through th'chest.

[He taps his chest with his hand, though he still doesn't open his eyes.]

S'my 'tonement...

[It's said so quietly. Are you sure that you heard it at all?]

People in th'Church. Father'n Sister. All th'soldiers we killed...

[He lets his hand drop to his lap as his lifts his head. He opens his eyes and turns his attention to Gaignun.]

[So many questions...but this seems to be like a good time to get some of these answers out of Duo. Gaignun figures talking about this stuff is good for the little guy, or at least good for him so that he's aware of potential issues.]

[Hooray for alcohol making you unable to pronounce big words. Still, he picks up his shot glass and holds it out to Gaignun.]

Di'n't want Ru or Jen t'know 'bout th' Aelia thing.

[After a moment of consideration, Gaignun pours him half a shot.]

I don't blame you, they would probably get on your case about it.

[He swallows the half-shot and leans back against the bed once more.]

Don' wanna hear it from 'em. Not af'er t'day...

[Gaignun carefully capped the bottle up once more and set it down on the floor. Duo is getting no more tonight.]

They're a little loud in their caring, aren't they.

[Aw, why you gotta be like that Gaignun?! He was just getting started!]

Ain't norm'ly so bad, jus'...not now. Dun wanna hear it. None of it.

[He's like that because he is a responsible adult...most of the time.]

I understand. You may want to talk to them about it sometime though, it's not good just to suffer by yourself.

Liquor helps.

[He chuckles and sets his shot glass back down.]

Imma talk to 'em. Jus' dunno when. Ain't gonna do it now. Too much t'deal with. 'Memberin' th' gate. Tellin' Jake 'bout Jade. Fuck, tha' was awful. Then Alex...Kida...

[His head drops some as he brings his hands to rub his eyes.]

[Gaignun reached out to put his hand on Duo's shoulder]

You don't have to talk to them today. Just do it sometime, ok?

[He lowers his hands and takes a deep breath. His eyes are hidden by his bangs, and he speaks in a low tone.]

Wanna know who killed 'im.

You mean Kida? I'm sure that won't be too hard, someone is bound to know something.

Prolly. Maybe summun'll fess up. C'n go'n pay 'em back for what they did...
