It's ok not to be alright with them treating you like this...I know on Rubedo's part he's over protective because he thinks he has to protect everybody, and I bet it's similar for Jenny.

It's not that they think you're weak or a child.

[He pulls a knee up close to his chest and rests his chin on it, his eyes focused on something directly in front of him. He is deep in thought, and unusually quiet before his eyes dart to the door.]

However...[he is tracking your line of sight] It wont help to make a mad dash for freedom.

[He's going to glance up at Gaignun before looking back towards the door.]

Besides, it would just make them clamp down on you harder. However...Supervised parole might squeak past them.

I think an OZ cell was easier to get out of. Even with the lack of oxygen...

[He looks back up to Gaignun.]

Think you could get me out of here? Even if it's just to get my things?

Of course I can get you out of here, that isn't the hard part. As long as you don't bolt as soon as you're out the door we'll be fine.

...And if the Beast calls for me while we're out? What will you do, then?

Depends, though I doubt she'd call for you this soon after her last feeding.

[Duo falls silent, his eyes glancing towards the door once more before he nods.]

Would you want to go now? Or should I ask for permission first for this... supervised field trip...

[Just the thought of having to ASK for permission to leave makes him growl quietly.]

[Gaignun thought for a moment.] We'll go. If Jenny or Rubedo get mad at you, I'll deal with them.

[He rises to his feet and looks around a moment before grabbing Frankendrill and his duffel bag.]

We can stop at the old house first. I need to find my extension cords too for another project I'm working on with Adam, and I'm pretty sure that's where they're at...

[He glances up at Gaignun.]

[Gaignun nodded. He'd done something very similar for Jenny when Duo and Rubedo had gone out vampire hunting, so he felt that she could not really fault him for extending the favour to Duo. Even if his house arrest was for a very different reason.

Also, he understood what Duo's thought process had been behind all this. Hell, he'd done something similar himself...]

[Nodding once more, Duo makes his way out of the door and down the stairs. He doesn't pause as he exits the house, looking briefly behind him to see if Gaignun is following. ]

[Oh he's following, don't worry, though looking for all the world like he's just out for a walk.]

[Duo's steps are purposeful, though the moment he steps outside he seems to visibly relax. He leads Gaignun through the streets of Adstring, careful not to go too far ahead. He glances over his shoulder every so often just to make sure he was staying within sight of his current "guardian".]

How long have you been here, Gaignun?

I got here in the Summer. [Just before his birthday in August.]

Jr was certainly surprised to see me though.

So...a bit before me.

Yeah, just a bit. This place was kind of overwhelming at first.

I got chased by pumpkin zombie things my first day here.

[He actually starts to slow down, matching strides with Gaignun.]

It's not been easy. My skills haven't been all that useful here. Those...heartless? Yeah, they weren't even phased by bullets, even though I hit two between the eyes.

[Shifting the duffel bag on his shoulders, he adds..]

Luckily, I found at least one thing that I'm good at that is actually useful.

I know how you feel. All the skills I've gained as adult, not to mention the resources are all but useless here.

As for the heartless, it takes a special kind of weapon to take them down, and only a few people from the world that they're from have them, so don't feel too badly about that. I think bullets will work well enough on almost everything else.

Would your cooking be an effective weapon?

[A smirk plays on his lip, but he continues to look ahead, and not at Gaignun.]

Haha, it used to be, but I've been taking lessons from Angeal so that it's not so...explosive.

Albedo is still very possessive of that space in the house though. Did you see the picture they drew?
