Alright. [As much as Gaignun misses his girls, he loves talking about them.]

I met them about 13 years ago, when me and Rubedo were 14. They were guinea pigs for a pharmaceutical company and we rescued them. That was one of the last mercenary type missions I went on before I was press ganged into learning how to function in political society.

Even though they're sisters, they're very different from each other. Mary speaks with a boarder planet accent and is more rough and tumble then Shelly is. She often goes along with Jr when he's on away missions. Shelly is the older one. She's calm and serene most of the time and incredibly intelligent. She handles a lot of the foundation and Durandal coordination stuff.

[Angeal can hear the warmth in the tone as Gaignun goes on about these women that he obviously was in love with. Score another point for Angeal being right and Sephiroth being wrong. Forbidden and unattainable fruit, and that's where it stayed as it always had. With a sigh Angeal finally started to relax because now there was no need to ask any of his other awkward questions that didn't need answers. He'd gotten all of the information he needed by Gaignun's tone and expression.]

Are they..URTV's like you and Rubedo?

[Gaignun shook his head] No, they were normal humans who were experimented on in various ways throughout their childhood. They could speak telepathically to each other but they had to be physically hooked up to something with wires in order to do so.

I didn't think we'd end up all together at first, but the more dates I went on with other girls and guys...it just worked best with them. Admittedly at first I used them as a bit of a social shield and living security blankets. Since Jr didn't age we had to keep him out of the spotlight while I was learning to be in it...hahah, I used to get so nervous if I had to go to parties by myself.

[Hear that Angeal. AND GUYS? Xenosagaverse's big phobia is xeno, not gender related.]

[Experimented on humans, Angeal couldn't help but slightly cringe at that. Every member of SOLDIER was a living walking talking science experiment in some form or fashion. And he'd told Unohana as much during his check up.

And when Gaignun mentioned dates with guys he almost choked on his tea. Still he couldn't help but set the tea down as he brought an arm to cover his mouth as he coughed. And when Angeal was done coughing, he realized it made sense. Of course men would be attracted to him. And with the wealth, anyone would be lucky to land Gaignun.]

I have a hard time imagining you nervous at a social function.

Well, it's true. There was a long period of transition between being Nigredo the URTV and Gaignun Kukai, the son of Suze Kukai the wealthy industrialist. I hated them, I didn't know what to do, I didn't really understand what those kind of people wanted from me yet...

Being hit on for the first time was an eye opening experience, let me tell you...Even with all the book training and social tutoring I had to go through, a lot of that can't be taught without actual experience.

[Gaignun got an embarrassed look on his face.] I even hid under a table once, hoping they wouldn't make me go. Of course Helmer was smart and made Rubedo go find me.

[The image of Gaignun being hit on and hiding under a desk made Angeal laugh.]

I cannot imagine you being ill at ease when someone hits on you. I'd imagine you had to be beating your admirers off with a stick. I'm surprised as it is here that you don't have that. But there's still time.

Well, you saw me briefly as Nigredo, that transition period took a very very long time, and some bits went more slowly then others.

Admittedly I was rather popular with people because of my looks, and eventually the personality I was able to develop helped with that. But thanks to Mary and Shelly that eventually died off to a more manageable trickle. Being off the market does wonders for that.

...Thankfully I know Jr will treat them well.

[As always when Angeal thought of that wide eyed boy, he closed his eyes and shut down for a moment. That little boy needed tons of hugs and bedtime stories, not the horrors of war and death.

And with the last part, Angeal opened his eyes and took a sip of tea this time. Right Gaignun was dead and not interested in anyone here because of his girls. And Angeal could absolutely respect and understand that.]

I'm sure he will.

I hope one day they can forgive me after what happened. And I hope that they can move on and find someone to be with since I can't anymore.

If they love you half as much as you love them I'm sure they've already forgiven you.

I hope so. I just don't want them to mourn me too long.

[He doesn't have a comeback to that.]

That's..up to them I suppose.

I just want them to be happy. Unfortunately I don't know what to do about myself.

[Angeal looks over at Gaignun. A man who wishes someone else happiness even if it's not with him. If that's not love, Angeal has no idea what is.]

What do you mean?

[Whoops, he shouldn't have said that. Really it just slipped out.]

Well, I'm dead there, and I highly doubt that they will ever show up here...[He really didn't want to admit that he was starting to feel a bit lonely, even with his brothers here.]

Still, I don't think I'm really ready to even try thinking about moving on either.

[This is the part where Angeal isn't sure whether to think the girls might show up or share that he himself would've sworn up and down he wasn't ready to find someone and would've been his most stubborn obstinate self. It'd really just happened.]

You don't need to decide or figure that out today.

[Gaignun laughed softly, though it was more at himself then anything.] My turn for a question Angeal, why did this have you so worked up?

I just wondered..why he would mention you of all people. But it's like you said, he misunderstood what he saw and heard.

[He doesn't quite believe you there Angeal, but ok] Well, you are cute, but you're taken now so you don't need to worry.

[Cue all the coughing. So much so that Angeal pushes himself away from the table and stands up, facing away from Gaignun.]

You have..a strange sense of humour.

[That comes out in between coughs. Because Gaignun had to be teasing and it couldn't be actually meant.]

Are you alright Angeal? [Gaignun had only meant to fluster Angeal a little because he thought the man would deny being cute, not kill him via tea. Though he wasn't lying when he said Angeal was cute.]

Here, let me get you some water or something...

[He lifted a hand and shook his head, trying to tame the coughing. It's totally the tea because it's too hot that's all.]

No, I'm fine. Sorry..

[Cough]

..it went down the wrong pipe.

[He shook his head. Gaignun probably used that line on all the kids. Honestly, Sephiroth had been seeing things and now Angeal himself was hallucinating them.]

[He's allowed to find you actually attractive Angeal. Not that he'd make a move even if he was ready considering that Angeal is with someone now.]

If you say so...I'm sorry, I didn't think you'd take it so hard.

[That turned Angeal's head around.]

What? Take what hard?
