There are two distinct 'areas' or 'sections' in this mindscape/dreamscape.  This is due to the fact that Gaignun is a personality that was created by Nigredo and his cohorts in order to camouflage into society and utilize secret military funding while maintaining a public persona. Because Gaignun is very different then Nigredo in personality and habit, he considers himself as almost a separate person personality wise.

There are connections between the two areas which are well hidden, and connections outside like to Rubedo and Albedo's areas which are more readily found.

'Gaignun'

This area is well ordered, set on a huge, comfortable starship/office building. The Durandal for those in the know. It has long, straight hallways, well lit, though most of the rooms won't open. The ones that do open show comfort and opulence, antiques and lush king sized beds, or crowded parties. The rooms are populated with shadowy figures, whose only distinguishing features are their hair color and clothing.

The locked rooms are the not so pleasant memories. Those doors can be forced, but do you really want to? There may or may not be faint screaming and gunfire behind a few of those, as well as the smell of fried electrical devices.

The representation of himself that can be found here is the Gaignun Kukai that most people are familiar with. He's a kind and genial host, but he will definitely steer you away from those locked rooms. However, he really is a mask that was created by Nigredo in order to hide and cope with normal society while being able to manipulate money and politics in Rubedo and Helmers favor.  Occasionally he will appear with two phantoms on his arms. Their names are Mary and Shelly Godwin, and while they appear as normal people, a closer look reveals that they are partially transparent. They're figments of the dreamers wishful imagination.

His theme is 'illusion'.

Nigredo

This part of him represents who Gaignun used to be, before he learned to be Gaignun. The scenery here is decidedly on a planet, with lush, but very ordered court yards surrounding a large building, the grounds themselves are surrounded by a forest.

Inside the building is a lot more sinister. The walls are plain, the whole place gives off a feeling of sterility and disquiet. This building is full of empty laboratories, filled with ominous looking equipment, including clear tubes that are large enough to hold a child....and there are a lot of them around.

There is one room however, that really wants to be opened. The door is locked tightly,  cold to the touch, and there are black wisps of something that leak out from behind it. A disembodied voice calls out softly to 'let it out'. This room houses Nigredo's 'executioner' powers and duties. This power is what would let him kill all the other URTV's and counteract Rubedo's Red Dragon.

Right next to that door is another one, locked as well. But it seems like something had forced that door open, ripped it from it's frame. The door itself bulges outward and is warped in places. The paint on this door is cracked and patchy, like spots were eaten away by acid. Thankfully it has been somewhat repaired using the equivalent of metal 2X4's, because from underneath this door blood leaks out, staining the hallway in front of it. Faintly, if you listen at the door, you can hear the sound of a child sobbing.

You could force the door if you really wanted to but, you don't want to go into his father's office...do you?

Hanging around in both the courtyard and inside the building are loads of identical blonde boys. The only physical difference that these children have are the numbers on their right palm, which range from 1 to 665. From a distance they merely look like phantoms, silently moving around the compound.  However, when you get closer to them, they turn into life sized marionettes, with chains where the strings would be. You are unable to see where the chains lead however, as they just fade off into the distance. If you touch them, you will see memories of past missions.

The puppet children are not the only things that bring up memories when touched.

The representation of himself that one meets here is that of Nigredo, the shy, professional, and very under-socialized child soldier. He is the inner soft chocolate to Gaignun's candy coating, and his theme is isolation, both voluntary and involuntary.
